Anyone who is into tech should know by now who this guy is! We were lucky enough to catch up with Leo Laporte at the BlogWorld and New Media Expo this year and asked him about being on the road and staying connected with his family, his favorite technology for staying connected and how to stay out of the “doghouse” when you’re away a lot. Enjoy!

I travel periodically for work and I’m 3 time zones away when I do. The challenge is when to call. I try to ensure that I call at least every other day to talk to my 6 yr old. I also e-mail my wife with messages for the boy daily. That’s much easier since I’m on the computer all day anyway.
The best part is that my son’s teacher keeps a class blog. It’s such a great way to ask “smart” leading questions about things that are going on in the classroom. It’s a great tool to combat that dreaded, “what’d you do in school today.” Son, “oh nothing.”
Ah, sounds like you’ve talked to my kids about how their school day went. 🙂
I love how universal that is.
