Review: STP Multipurpose Motor Treatment

Ok, I admit it… I’m a guy but I don’t really do much in the way of auto maintenance. Other than taking them in for oil changes and washes as well as scheduled maintenance, I don’t work on them myself. I add oil when and if necessary and do general upkeep but I’m not gearhead. Over the years though, one thing I’ve often wondered is if all those products on the shelf in auto parts stores actually work. You know, the ones that promise better fuel economy or that they’ll clean out your engine if you add them to the mix.

I tried out STP Multipurpose Motor Treatment and the results were pretty good (though I’m not much of a motorhead I must admit). I had some slight knocking in my engine, which is “high mileage” and after one treatment the engine is definitely running quieter. I’ll need more time to determine if I’m actually getting better fuel economy, etc but at the very least it SOUNDS like the STP is working! I’ll update you guys in a week.
